Abstract Sound
Since it was hard to read the source of the sounds, It made my assignment harder to do. it took me a couple tries to explain to myself what exactly I just heard but eventually I came out with an approving thought. My sound was a combination of many different sounds, It was like listening to a very vibrant abstract painting. The sounds this compilation made were completely random. For example the beginning of the sound began with chirping then within seconds it changed its tone to an annoying shriek. Rather then being peaceful and quite this compilation of sounds were very uncomfortable and loud. Every second sounded like an annoying robotic type of noise. The name of my sound was "Phonurgia Nova Awards 2009." The name of the sound was odd and had no meaning to me at all. It was plain out confusing, most parts I heard had the same type of sound but had a different rhythm, just like a distorted turn table. It was tough trying to get all of these sounds down in my head. The clip was around a minute, and every five seconds it would become silent. The silence lasted for around three seconds at a time, then it would inexpediently startle you with another peculiar sound. This was an incredible noise hard to predict, and very awkward. Sadly this sound reminded me of myself, which is kind of an upset.
David, My favorite part of your piece had to be your simile when you compare the rhythm to a distorted table. I'm curious to learn why you found the sound similar to yourself, and most of all bothered by that idea. For the next writing I'd love for you to focus on word selection and using alternative language that can add to the flow and beauty of writing. 16/20--dcs
