Speak Mel and Teens Today
I can honestly tell you mel and us teens have real connections. In the book Mel struggles to find A clique or a social group to "hang out with." she goes through many plots and plans to find friends. Just for a single mistake she made over the summer Mel finds herself struggleing. Mel and teens today are connected, as i said before mel struggles to find a clique, as teens we also struggle to find our "place" in the community. though some communities have less cliques that still doesnt hide the fact that they are there, and there to stay. Another thing that i feel should be addressed was briefly mentioned in the book. Mel finds herself in an embarrising momment, then after she runs from it hiding the fact that it happened. Well every teen has an embarrising momment, but i feel teens well not just teens everyone shouldt run from it. Unless you want to be a push over because thats what people would think about you. "embrace it, have a good attitude face your fears. be the best you can be." and all that.

MAYA ANGELOU
Maya is trying to give the reader a better perspective of her writting carrer she explains how she used to wright for just black girls, but eventually started wrighting for everyone.in her interview she describes her writing as deep talk. i think deep talk is giving the reader something so exquisite that it makes the reader focus on those words and give the words a more deeper meaning. One of the challenges Maya faces in her writing includes being aware of her readers and still having a concern for her authors craft. i feel she trys her hardest to give in her personality into her books, regardless of her audience.
